Monitoring Systems

Monitoring systems are the essence of systems administration solutions. Early notification about possible problems, their preventions and a continuous monitoring of quality of service are the basis, upon which pro-active planning of system resources and continuous improvement of quality build.

Escalation

Our company uses advanced tools for monitoring, SLA reporting and problem escalation. Every problem has to be confirmed by our employee, who will solve the problem and guarantee response time and fix time according to SLA parameters. This completely eliminates a possibility to ignore any issue.

 

Service checks from user's perspective

Major difference between us and many other companies is that we are checking service functionality from the users' point of view. Our monitoring system uses the service the same way as users do. For example, when checking e-mail service, we send an e-mail (using SMTP), then try to download it (using POP3 and IMAP) and compare the messages. We are performing the same actions as users do and we will not miss any kind of problem (including problems with DNS, antispam or antivirus software). We consider any other approaches (e.g. verifying that the responsible software is running) inadequate.

 

Solving reccurring issues

Our monitoring system contains a module which reports recurring problems and allows us to gain understanding about what is happening inside the systems and how to prevent outages. The operations team regularly evaluates each problem and seek to find a solution to avoid such problems in the future.

 

Data access

Our monitoring systems are open for customers: each customer has exact knowledge of problems occurring on their servers and trends, based on their service level.

 

Platform independence

Our monitoring system runs on different operating systems and allows monitoring of Linux, Windows, Solaris, FreeBSD and other operating systems. We are also able to monitor network equipment (Cisco, Astaro, etc.), network infrastructure and VoIP infrastructure. We focus especially on monitoring the functionality of customers' applications and build custom probes for these applications.
